5 Diet and Weight Loss Tips for Travel - San Jose Personal Training

Many of us travel a lot and can use some tips for when we leave the comfort of the San Jose area. 
Vacation travel can be fun and you may choose not to watch your diet, but if you are on a weight loss program or travel on business then you may want to think twice about totally blowing it through the whole trip.
Here are 5 tips for good diet while traveling from your friendly neighborhood personal training team:
1. Bring Food - You never know what is going to happen when you travel and you want to be prepared for unforeseen delays by bringing smart snacks with you. Try packages of beef jerky, protein bars, nuts, and dried fruits are all easy choices.
2. Order Smart - Just because you are traveling you don't always have to order the cheeseburger, French Fries and onion rings!
Onion Rings don't work for weight loss!
Think smart and order the grilled chicken and fish.

3. Think When You Drink - Dump the sugar drinks!
Everything you add to the alcoholic drinks adds extra calories, so don't go exotic every time you order a cocktail.
4. Get Your Workouts In - Burn some extra calories by hitting the hotel gym, go for a hike, jog the beach, do a boot camp workout in your hotel room, do some tabatas in the room, or take a TRX with you and keep some exercises going while you are away.
6. Hydrate - Drink lots of water so you stay well hydrated.
Water helps make you feel full...and it helps keep you healthy!
Simply put, THINK when you travel and you might just avoid adding back that 2-5 pounds you lost from your belly or rear prior to leaving...
