The 5 Top Fitness and Exercise Trends for 2011
Posted by Brett Riesenhuber on Thu, Dec 16, 2010 @ 07:17 AM

With 2010 drawing to a close and 2011 rapidly approaching, it is time for my annual vision for the new hot trends in the fitness and exercise arena.
#1 Fitness and Exercise Trend - More exercise, fitness, and weight loss.

2010 has made many people aware of their health, or lack of it, due to the stress provided by our "New Economy." Many have realized that their health cannot and should not be taken for granted.
With this realization many have started to implement an exercise program and weight loss program.
This is the biggest trend I see coming our way in 2011, more exercise, fitness, and a better diet.
#2 Fitness and Exercise Trend - Group Fitness and Exercise Programs

The next trend is towards group fitness and exercise programs.
No more boring programs and a lot less 1:1 personal training programs. Group programs have taken over and will continue to dominate because they fit the "new mold"
- Time effective
- Cost effective
- Results effective
- And FUN!
Programs like fitness boot camps and semi-private personal training programs will continue to grow and the best ones will also produce awesome results in the fitness levels and weight loss of the participants.
#3 Fitness and Exercise Trend - More creativity.

Next we will continue to see more creative ways to exercise and have fun while working out.
Increased use of balls, bands, kettlebells are definitely a big trend, but beyond these will come more use of "out-of-the-box" thinking and techniques.
We will use ropes, different types of balls, balance platforms, and home-made fitness props from every day Home Depot items! Like PVC pipes filled with sand, sand bags, and furnitiure movers.
#4 Fitness and Exercise Trend - Drugs and Surgery.

Another major trend in fitness and exercise is one that is not the best, in my opinion, but a trend none the less.

This trend is towards more drug and surgical procedures. From HCG to Lap-Band and bypass, we will continue to see people taking what some would refer to as "the easy way out" and not doing the work on their diet and exercise program to achieve true lasting results.
#5 Fitness and Exercise Trend - Correct and sustainable weight loss and diet nutrition programs.

Diet trends will also continue to change in 2011. Now that we have experienced everything form low fat to low carb, cabbage soup to the Cheerio diet, and every end of the imaginable spectrum.
Now the ideas of the past, the research of the past and present, and the trials and tribulations of the masses have finally started to show us what truly works and what doesn't...and what is total BS!
People will not only be able to achieve weight loss, but the ability to keep it off with proper weight loss and diet programs associated with a great fitness and weight loss program.
So get ready for 2011 and an awesome year of health, fitness, weight loss, and the ability to build the body of your dreams!
